Introduction to Land Navigation Workshop
Land Navigation I
Land Navigation Workshop
Even in today’s high-tech world, your smartphone will only get you so far. Come learn basic navigation skills using map and compass to find your way.
In this class, you will learn the parts of a compass, how to adjust for declination, read a topographic map, and how to use them in tandem.
We will also show you how to use a map protractor/coordinate scale and plot coordinates to determine your exact location using UTM grid coordinates.
People can get lost anywhere, which is why navigation skills are critical whether you are on or off trail. If you have a compass and map protractor/coordinate scale, please bring them to the class.
This class is instructed by Jason Marsteiner, a Colorado Native and owner of The Survival University.
This class is limited to 15 participants and pre-registration is required.
